Long Illness Fatal To Area Resident
Mrs. Phoebe Carter, 83, a resident of Ann Arbor and vicinity since 1952, died this morning at the Cedar Knoll Rest Home in Grass Lake after a long illness. Before entering the rest home she had lived at 328 Catherine St.
Mrs. Carter was born on August 9, 1875, at Arnprior, Ontario, a daughter of Thomas and Kate Joyce MacGregor. Her husband, John Lawrence Carter, preceded her in death.
She had lived in Detroit before moving to Ann Arbor.
Mrs. Carter is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Roswell E. Franklin of Ann Arbor and Wallace H. Franklin of Chelsea.
Funeral services will be held Saturday in the First Presbyterian Church at Arnprior. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel here on Tuesday afternoon and evening.
