Will Perform In Saginaw, Plymouth:

Civic Ballet Appoints New, Permanent Manager

Mrs. James M. Wolf, of 304 Arbana Dr., has accepted the new, permanent post of manager of the Ann Arbor , Civic Ballet.

The ballet corps has been invited to perform in Saginaw with the Saginaw Symphony Orchestra on Oct. 27, and with the Plymouth Symphony Orchestra on Dec. 13.

Mrs. Wolf was graduated from the Peabody Music Conservatory in Baltimore and studied ballet with Robicheou in Boston. She is a designer of jewelry and silver and a member of the Potter's Guild.

Announcement of the invitations for the two concerts was made by Mrs. Ernest Brater, president of the Ann Arbor Civic Ballet board.

The ballet corps, under the direction of Sylvia Hamer and Jane Miller, will dance “Coppelia” by Delibes, which was presented here last spring in a joint concert with the Ann Arbor Civic Orchestra.

Costumes for “Coppelia,” subtitled “The Lady with the Enameled Eyes,” were designed for last spring’s production by Ardis Mae of Detroit. Mrs. J. J. Hammer, wardrobe mistress, and her committee are preparing the costumes for the out-of-town concerts.

Auditions for a few openings in the ballet corps will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Sylvia Studio of Dance, 525 E. Liberty St.
