The Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Leggette of Brooklyn Ave., who will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Saturday, received a letter of congratulations today from President Eisenhower.
The couple was married in Woodbridge, Ont., Canada, on Dec. 19, 1894. Both were born in Canada, and they lived there for 10 years following their marriage. Mrs. Leggette is the former Jessie Jarrett.
The Rev. Mr. Leggette, a retired Congregational minister, has held pastorates in South Dakota, Indiana and Illinois. He was pastor of the Forest Glen Congregational Church in Chicago, Ill., for 13 years before his retirement in 1939. They have lived in Ann Arbor for 15 years.
The couple has one daughter, Mrs. Joseph Brinkman of Arlington Blvd., and two sons, R. E. Leggette of Detroit and Albuquerque and R. M. Leggette of New York. All will attend a family dinner Saturday in the Corner House Restaurant. Also attending will be a granddaughter, Mrs. Charles G. Killins of Detroit.
