Ypsilanti Jeweler Elected To Head Community Chest
YPSILANTI -- Frederick J. Seyfried, a local jeweler, was elected president of the Ypsilanti Community Chest at the first meeting of the 1960 board of directors yesterday.
Seyfried replaces Edward S. Tripp, who served as president the past two years. Tripp's term as a director expired this week.
Other new officers elected by directors yesterday were Jack R. Lockwood, first vice-president; Jack Mitchell, second vice-president; and Eugene P. Butman, treasurer.
The board also named Dr. R. Stanley Gex, a director, to the executive committee.
Chairmen and members for the Chest’s budget, planning and public relations committees and a campaign chairman for the 1961 area United Campaign next fall will be named in the near future, a spokesman said.
Meetings of the board will continue to be held at 7:30 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month, the directors decided.
