Mrs. Clara Kingsley Kohler, 88, formerly of 505 Benjamin St., and a resident of Ann Arbor for nearly 70 years, died last night at the Orchard Haven Nursing Home, Plymouth, following a long illness.
Mrs. Kohler was born on Aug. 1, 1871, at Milford, a daughter of Charles and Abbie Jane Fish Kingsley. She and William Kohler were married in Aug. 1927. He died in 1941.
Owner and operator of a rooming and boarding house on Thayer St. for many years, Mrs. Kohler came to Ann Arbor in 1891 from Milford.
Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Edward Miner of Detroit, and Mrs. C. L. Beckon of Lansing; and a nephew, Charles Kingsley of Battle Creek.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kohler will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Staffan-Hildinger Funeral Home here, with Frederick Hull, CS, officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Thursday morning.
