Sit-In Demonstrator Speaks On Goal

A Florida A&M coed who served 50 days in jail for participating in a lunch counter protest at Tallahassee, Fla., said here last night the civil rights flight "is not a fight for Negro rights but a battle for human dignity."

The coed, Patricia Stevens, addressed a group at the Ann Arbor Public Library.

She said picketing of variety stores in the North has given the Southern movement considerable moral support.

She told the group "there is discrimination in the North, but it is not as overt as in the South."
