Mrs. Mary Farynack
Mrs. Mary Farynack, 95, the widow of John Farynack, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Yanitsky of 537 Detroit St., after a long illness.
Mrs. Farynack was born Sept. 19, 1865, in Galicia, Ukraine, Austria, a daughter of Simion and Mary Alexander Wolenski. In 1885 she was married to Mr. Farynack in the Ukraine.
The couple came to this country in 1891, settling in Bentleyville, Pa. Mr. Farynack died in 1935, and Mrs. Farynack came to Ann Arbor in 1936.
She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church here, and the Ukraine National Association.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Yanitsky, Mrs. Andrew Brandrofchak and Mrs. John Trofin, all of Ann Arbor, and Mrs. Peter Wengzen of Youngstown, O.; a son, Michael of Traverse City; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A son, John C., died on Oct. 6, 1960.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Church, with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday.
