Saline Pastor Takes Post In Ann Arbor

Rev. Armin Bizer, Family Will Move Late In October

The Rev. Armin C. Bizer, pastor of St. James Evangelical & Reformed Church, Saline, has resigned to become associate pastor of Bethlehem Evangelical &. Reformed Church, Ann Arbor.

He and his wife and two children will move to Ann Arbor late in October. He will assume his new duties on Nov. 1.

A graduate of Eden Theological Seminary near St. Louis, Mo., and of Elmhurst, (Ill.) College, the Rev. Mr. Bizer has served at St. James Church since his graduation in 1956.

He will deliver his final sermon at the Saline church on Sunday, Oct. 29.

Since he began his pastorate, the active membership of the Saline church has increased approximately 25 per cent. A new constitution has been written and adopted and the church’s interior has been redecorated and remodeled. Two new organizations, a Men’s Brotherhood and a Couples Club, have been added since he became pastor.

The church also voted to become a member of the United Church of Christ, a merger between E&R and Congregational Christian Churches.

St. James’ church council has met with the Rev. Henry G. Kroehler, president of the Michigan-Indiana Synod of the E&R church, to make plans to appoint a new pastor.
