Elizabeth Sampson
Miss Elizabeth Sampson, 75, of 310 E. Liberty St., died Thursday afternoon at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after several weeks illness.
She was born Dec. 13, 1885, in Champion, Mich., a daughter of William and Lydia Sampson. She lived in Detroit for a number of years where she was employed as a designer in the drapery department of the J. L. Hudson Co.
She came to Ann Arbor 20 years ago and was employed in the drapery department of William Goodyear & Co. until her retirement nine years ago.
She was preceded in death by a half-sister, Mrs. Eliza Kneebone, who died here in 1945.
Surviving are her brother, William Sampson of Ann Arbor, and several nephews and nieces, including Robert W. Kneebone of Houston, Tex., formerly of Ann Arbor.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Muehlig Chapel. The Rev. L. Burlin Main will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel beginning this evening.
