which owns
Argus. Beare
was in Ann Ar-

tour the Argus
plant.

"As the Ar-

comes further
involved with

optical sys- Beare
terns, it will have a tremen-
dous advantage being li)Ccucti
near the University," Beare
said.

Beare said that Lee L. Daven-
port, Argus vice-president and
general manager, is working
"very closely" with a U-M
radar group, and has a con-
tract for the design of an opti-
cal system used in conjunction
with a coherent light program
being developed at the U-M's
Willow Run Laboratories.

"Argus, in addition to its
military efforts, is increasing
its commercial optical business
and is presently doing work
for companies such as Eastman
Kodak and Bausch & Lomb,"
Beare said.

Argus manufactures still and
motion picture cameras and
projectors, besides optics for
military use.
