Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Ft. Meade, Md., post chapel for Col. William Rossing, 52, who died Saturday night at the Martinsburg, W. Va., veterans hospital after suffering a heart attack earlier in the day at Charles Town, W. Va.

Col. Rossing was formerly an assistant professor of military science and tactics at the University of Michigan.

At the time of his death, he was commanding officer of the Second U. S. Army Support Element and headquarters commandant of Headquarters, Second U. S. Army, both at Ft. Meade.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen, and their two children, Bruce and Boyd, all at Ft. Meade.

Burial was in Arlington National Cemetery.
