ALLEN WING OPENS: Students began using the new eight-classroom wing at John Allen Elementary School last week. This picture taken at the entrance to the new wing shows the doors to the new gymnasium on the right. Allen School is on Towner Blvd. adjacent to Buhr Park on the city's southeast side.

WELL-LIGHTED GYMNASIUM: Some of the classrooms in John Allen Elementary School's new addition will not be occupied until next fall, but students eagerly began using the new gymnasium facilities last week. The lighting is one of the gymnasium's attractive features. The public is invited to view the new addition during an open house at the school from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Refreshments will be served to the public.

NEW CLASSROOM IN USE: Sixth-graders are pictured with their teacher, Jerry Hakes. The students are using one of the new classrooms in the John Allen addition. The school, which was first occupied Jan. 30, 1961, included 10 classrooms and a library, with administrative offices before the new addition.
