The Bruins, in winning their
first national title by the poll-
sters, returned the crown to the
West Coast for the first time
since the 1959-60 California
champions.
In the AP poll, UCLA had
392 points to Michigan's 341
while in the UPI poll, the
Uclans had 328 to Michigan's
291.
UCLA piled up 34 first-place
votes by AP and 32 by UPI
while Michigan had one fir?-
place vote by AP. Other fir:
place votes went to Oregon
State and Loyola of Chicago in
