No ‘Dry Line’ Stand Taken, League Says
The president of the local chapter of the League of Women Voters said today the League has taken no position on the proposal on Monday’s ballot to change the city's "dry line". Mrs. Warren L. Smith said the League has received a report that a city resident was contacted on the telephone by someone claiming to represent the League and urging a vote against Proposal No. 1.
The League wants to make it clear, Mrs. Smith said, that her organization is engaged in no activity with regard to this proposal.
