Gerdes R. Onago, 65, an Ann Arbor resident since 1930, died Monday morning in a local convalescent home after a long illness. He had lived at 2857 Packard.
He was born March 8, 1899, in Wood County, Ohio, a son of John and Margaret Jansen Onago. He lived in Carleton where he was associated with the Walter Knapp Construction Co. until coming here. He was a retired employe of the former Ann Arbor Automotive Products Co.
He married Julia Godfrey of Ann Arbor on Feb. 18, 1928, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert W., and a daughter, Virginia E., both of Ann Arbor, and two brothers, Floyd and Edward, both of Milan.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Chester H. Loucks officiating. Interment will be in the mausoleum in Carleton. Friends may call at the chapel.
