Will Geer To Address Garden Club

Guest speaker at the special meeting of the Ann Arbor Garden Club Wednesday will be Shakespearian actor Will Geer.

“Gardens on Tour” will be the topic of Geer, who is a garden enthusiast. He encouraged the club to establish its authentic Shakespearian garden in the walled garden at the Michigan League and continues to advise the club in its development.

The garden features plants named in Shakespeare’s writings, all of which were considered herbs at that time. Each plant has a marker which identifies it and quotes Shakespearian reference to that plant.

The meeting which is open to club members and their guests will be held at 8 p.m. at the University Botanical Gardens, 1800 North Dixboro Road. Hostess will be Mrs. C. Merle Dixon, chairman of the Shakespeare garden.
