Kiwanians’ Annual Sale
To Be Held Feb. 11-13
The Kiwanis Club of Ann Ar-
bor will put on its annual sale
of new and used items Feb.
11, 12 and 13.
Main site of the sale will be
the Armory. Furniture, appli-
ances and other larger items
will be sold at 113 E. Washing-
ton.
Dates and sites of the sale
were announced today by Lyle
0. Paige and Charles Devers,
co-chairmen of the event. It
netted Kiwanians more than
$12,000 in gross sales last year.
Profits are used to support a
variety of club charitable proj-
ects.
The club has set up a founda-
tion called the Kiwanis Club of
Ann Arbor Foundation and will
conduct the sale within the
framework of that organization.
The foundation status permits
Kiwanians to give to each donor
to the sale a receipt stating the
value of the item received. That
amount is deductible from fed-
eral income tax.
Donations to the sale — fur-
niture, appliances, in fact all
kinds of goods — can be made
by telephoning NO 5-0450 be-
tween 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily.
Goods will be picked up by
Kiwanians.
In that connection the club
has purchased a truck with a
hydraulic lift to aid in the col-
lection of goods and transfer of
them from warehouses to sale
sites. The truck was purchased
with administrative funds, it
was announced.
