NAACP To Eye Action In Dispute

Discussion of possible courses of action in its opposition to Mayor Wendell E. Hulcher’s appointments to the County Board of Supervisors is scheduled for the 5 p.m. meeting tomorrow of the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People at the Community Center.

Mrs. Albert H. Wheeler, local NAACP president, said her organization will also discuss action “to rid the county of government by spite organized by Chairman (Robert) Harrison last week and supported by the Board of Supervisors in contemptuous disregard of the needs and wishes of the poor and black citizens of the Washtenaw County.”

Mrs. Wheeler said the NAACP agenda also includes discussion of the status of Ann Arbor’s public housing program and a final decision about the NAACP dinner dance scheduled for May 18.
