Cooper, Hugh M.

Age 85, passed away Saturday in Bemidji, Minn. Mr. Cooper was born Dec. 12, 1882, in Reasnor, Iowa, and in 1918 married Nora Roby. He graduated from Drake University in 1909. Mr. Cooper served as a superintendent of schools in Iowa and Minnesota. He obtained his masters degree in Education from the University of Michigan and was a salesman for an educational publishing company until 1944 when he returned to the real estate business locally. Mr. Cooper had been a Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner for over 60 years and was a member of the Ann Arbor Rotary Club and Men’s Thursday Luncheon Club. Survivors include: his wife, a son Dr. Hugh Cooper, Jr.; three grandchildren, all of Ann Arbor. Two sons preceded him in death. Cremation has taken place in Minnesota. Local Masonic Memorial Services are being arranged. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Ann Arbor YWCA.
