Contractor William Eddy Dies At 77
William F. Eddy, 77, president of the William F. Eddy & Son, Inc., contracting firm, died Monday in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital following an illness of several weeks.
A resident of Ann Arbor for 54 years, Mr. Eddy had been president of the Golden Rule Masonic Lodge 159, Elks Lodge No. 325, the Moose Lodge and the Grotto. He lived at 222 Kenwood Ave.
Mr. Eddy was born in Saginaw on Sept. 1, 1891. He married Josephine Ourada on Oct. 5, 1915. During the Depression years, Mr. Eddy was superintendent of construction of the Ann Arbor WPA.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Robert W., and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday from the Muehlig Chapel, with the Rev. Charles J. Gensheimer officiating. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel, beginning at noon Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Washtenaw County Humane Society.
