DOUGHTY WORKS OUT LIGHTLY

Michigan sophomore tailback Glenn Doughty, the team’s leading ground gainer after the first three games, did not participate in the Wolverines’ situation scrimmages Tuesday at Michigan Stadium.
However, Doughty, who injured his ankle in Saturday’s game against Missouri, was in uniform and worked out on the sidelines. He is expected to start against Purdue this Saturday.
Phil Seymour, the Wolverines All Big Ten defensive end, was also in full uniform for Tuesday’s practice although, he too, did not participate in the full drills.
Seymour injured his knee before the start of the season and did not play at all in any of the Wolverines’ first three games. It is not known whether he will play this weekend against Purdue.
In other action Tuesday, Phil’s cousin Paul, a second-string offensive end, was injured when he received a forearm to the jaw. The younger Seymour had his two front teeth loosened and incurred a possible fractured jaw.
