BO DOING WELL IN CALIFORNIA
PASADENA, Calif. (UPI)—Glenn E. “Bo” Schembechler, Michigan’s football coach who missed the Rose Bowl game because of a heart ailment, was reported “doing very well” Saturday at St. Luke Hospital.
Dr. J. H. Weinstein said the 40-year-old coach spent “an excellent night” in the coronary care unit.
“This morning’s electrocardiogram showed the expected changes,” said the physician. “He is expected to remain in the coronary care unit for another 48 hours.”
Schembechler was hospitalized three hours before the start of the New Year’s Day game in which his Michigan team lost to the University of Southern California, 10-3.
His wife, Millie, visited his room twice Saturday morning and said, “Bo is doing very well.”
She said their children, three boys, went back to their home in Ann Arbor Saturday. “Bo and I hope to join them in a few weeks,” she said.
