Age 69, died Saturday in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. He was born Dec. 16, 1900 in Manila, Philippine Island, the son of Richard and Gabina Gabril Schneidewind. On Feb. 13, 1943 he married the former Jane Morris who survives. Prof. Schneidewind had resided in Ann Arbor since 1920. He taught in the University of Michigan Chemical and Metallurgical Department for 40 years and was made a Professor Emeritus in 1966. Survivors besides his wife include: two sisters; Mrs. Ann Sharrard of Stamford, Conn., Mrs. Gabina Fernlock of Grandville, Mich.; one brother, Carl S., of Palace Verdes Peninsula, Calif.; several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Terry N. Smith officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel until noon on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Heart Association.
