Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Chelsea for Donald H. Bacon, founder and former president of the Central Fibre Products Co. of Chelsea.

Mr. Bacon, 75, died Saturday night at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was 75. He lived at 540 Barton Shore Dr., Ann Arbor.

Born in Chelsea, March 18, 1895, he graduated from Chelsea High School and attended Olivet College.

After selling Central Fibre Products to the Avis Industrial Corp. in 1964, Mr. Bacon remained in an advisory capacity until his retirement in May, 1969.

At this time of his death, he was president of Bacon Industries of Chelsea, a holding company with statewide and national interests.

Mr. Bacon was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Chelsea, the Chelsea Masonic Lodge, the Harmonie Club of Detroit, the Emeritus Club of the University of Michigan, Herbert J. McKune Post 31 of the American Legion, and was member of the Board of Trustees of Olivet College since 1952.

He is survived by his widow, a daughter Mrs. Kelley Rollins of Tucson Ariz., four grandchildren; two brothers, George Bacon of Fort Wayne, Ind., and John Bacon of Empire, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Schneider of Chelsea, and Mrs. Harris Fletcher of Urbana, Ill.

Services will be held Wednesday at the Congregational Church of Christ in Chelsea at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow.

Eulogies will be delivered by Dr. Gorton Reithmiller, ex-president of Olivet College, and Harond Jones, retired general manager of Central Fibre Products.

Funeral arrangements are being made by the Staffan Funeral Home, Chelsea.
