Age 86, passed away last evening at the Huron View Lodge. He was born July 1, 1884, in Ann Arbor the son of Gustave and Wilhelmina Bruch Behnke. On May 12, 1909, he married Emilie M. Miller, she preceded him in death on December 12, 1957. Mr. Behnke was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ and was a retired Associated Spring Co. employe. Survivors include: a son, Arthur A.; one daughter, Miss Lucile A. Behnke of Ann Arbor; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, William and Oscar and two sisters, Mrs. William Yanke and Mrs. Walter Darling, all of Ann Arbor; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Richard Simonson officiating. Burial will be made in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel after 12 noon on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Church Building Fund.
