Denton Sentenced For U-M Scuffle

Peter Denton, 29-year-old former University student, has been sentenced to four days on a District Court work program for his assault last February on a campus security officer.

Denton, of 612 Spring St., was also ordered by Judge S. J. Elden to pay $150 fine and costs. He earlier pleaded nolo contendere (no contest) to an assault and battery charge filed after Security Officer George L. Stauch suffered a broken rib in a scuffle in the University’s Administration Building.

Denton and a group of students attempted to force their way into a meeting of the Board of Regents when the fight occurred.
