St. Thomas School Fate On Agenda

A vote will be taken next Tuesday by the St. Thomas Parish Council to determine the fate of the St. Thomas Elementary and High School. During a meeting last night, a minority report from an ad hoc committee recommended closing the top three grades of the high school.

The majority report, however, proposed continuing the school for at least two years, according to Claude Morehouse, president of the St. Thomas Parish Council.

Also recommending retaining the school as it is now was the Education Commission Committee. This committee further recommended developing new pilot programs and expanded Christian education classes for students attending public schools but who return to St. Thomas for these classes.
