Age 93, passed away Tuesday, June 20 at St. John's Hospital in Detroit. She had been a resident of the Whittier Retirement Home in Detroit. She was born April 23, 1879 in Ann Arbor, the daughter of August and Amelia Wisthoff Grayer. She married Fred W. Gross, a former Ann Arbor merchant. He preceded her in death May 14, 1948. Mrs. Gross was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Women of the church. Survivors include: two sons, Harold F. of Lansing, Walter W. of Bloomfield Hills; one daughter, Mildred; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Helen Mayer of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Adelaid Miller of Bloomfield Hills. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Muehlig Chapel with Rev. Fred Holtfreter officiating. Burial will follow in Washtenong Memorial Park. Friends may call at the chapel from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church.
