Mattie L. Dorsey of 917 Jefferson Ypsilanti, seeks Democratic nomination as District 7 commissioner. Not nov employed.
1-Taught school in Louisiana, Illinois and Michigan.
College graduate of Southern University, Baton Rouge Louisiana, did graduate work in Social Science, Political Science and Sociology at University of Michigan.
Former member of city planning commission of Ypsilanti. Member of Second Baptist Church, present executive board member of both Michigan League of Humna Services, and The Comprehensive Health Planning Council of Southeastern Michigan (seven counties). Several community clubs, Ypsilanti Historical Society, organized Parkridge community (former Carver center) in city of Ypsilanti. Had to stop teaching on account of ill health, but I'm in good health now.
2-Senior citizens comprehensive health care, transportation, more financial aid, and lower property taxes.
Prevention of crime at the county level. · Drug treatment, and education for those that need it, plus a preventive effort for those who may turn to drugs.
Social Service center, office space, and more park lands. 1990 Transportation study, also Bikeways.
Environmental study, pollution of water, and air, etc. Study of local sewer improvement plants versus the Regional Interceptor Sewer System. County school districts should provide job opportunities for youth, along with regular school system.
Concrete plans, and implementation for the reduction of property taxes, and special consideration for tax reform at the state level, by the board of commissioners. These items can be a study of the board as a whole..
