She Pours It Out At Blues Fete
In an emotion-charged moment at Saturday afternoon's session of the Ann Arbor Jazz and Blues Festival, Lucille Spann “knocks ’em dead” with a song. She accepted a plaque designating the festival site near Huron High School as the Otis Spann Memorial Field. Mrs. Spann, a blues artist who performed as pianist with the Mighty Joe Young band at the Festival, is the widow of the late blues piano star. Spann appeared in the first Ann Arbor blues festival.
