Anti-War Rally To Feature Dellinger At U

A member of the delegation which helped return three American prisoners from Hanoi, the mother of a U.S. pilot still held captive by North Vietnam and Vietnamese students will highlight an anti-war rally at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hill Auditorium on the University campus. Its theme is “The Endless War: Vietnam and the American Empire.”

Among those scheduled to speak are:

—David Dellinger, one of four representatives the Committee of Liaison with Families of Servicemen Detained in Vietnam who returned Sept. 28, with three U.S. prisoners of war released by the North Vietnamese.

— Virgina Warner of Ypsilanli whose son, Jim, has been a prisoner of war in Hanoi since 1967.

David Truong, a Vietnamese student now living in the United States, whose father, Truong Dinh Dzu, has been imprisoned in South Vietnam since 1967, following his unsuccessful candidacy for the South Vietnamese presidency.

—Tran Khanh Tuyet, a Vietnamese student who works with the Indochina Resource Center, Washington, D.C.

Sponsors of the rally are the local Human Rights Party, 2nd District McGovern Committee, Operation Reparations, People’s Coalition for Peace and Justice, Rainbow People's Party, Vietnam Veterans Against the War, Program for Educational and Social Change.

The sponsors say they will receive a “suggested donation” of $1 at the door.
