Teamster Center May Not Be Sold
DETROIT (AP) — A report that Teamsters Local 299 had decided to sell its 650-acre recreation center near Saline has been denied by Otto Wendel, local financial secretary-treasurer.
Wendel said no decision had been made to sell the property, although local membership had overwhelmingly rejected a $2-per-month assessment to meet Michigan Water Resources Commission requirements to upgrade sewage facilities.
“We don’t know at this time just what we are going to do with the property,” Wendel said. “We might even decide to keep it.”
