Schmale, Mrs. Theodore R. (Clara A.)

Age 91, passed away Saturday, November 2, 1974 at the Evangelical Home for the Aged in Detroit. She was born April 19, 1883 in Marthasville, Missouri, the daughter of Rev. W. H. and Augusta Luessenhop Dinkmeyer. On June 13, 1913 she was married to Rev. Schmale; he preceded her in death on June 4, 1969. Rev. Schmale had been pastor of Bethlehem United Church of Christ from 1928 to 1951. Mrs. Schmale was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ and had been very active in the women's and youth organizations of the church and also in the state organizations of the United Church of Christ. Survivors include: two sons, Dr. Herbert T. Schmale of Ann Arbor and Fred H. Schmale of Bloomfield Hills; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn E. (Helen) Baumann of Midland; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Thea Frankenfeld of Cincinnati, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Ralph, in 1933. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the Bethlehem United Church of Christ with the pastors and the former pastors of Bethlehem Church officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem United Church of Christ or the Evangelical Home for the Aged in Detroit. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel until noon Tuesday.
