City Issues Permit For New Restaurant

A restaurant will be constructed at 3965 S. State St. next to Ann Arbor Research Park.

The city issued a permit for the project valued at $280,000 to the developer, the First Martin Corp., 115 Depot. The contractor is Community Technology, Inc., 115 Depot.

Similar to restaurants in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, the local facility will include 6,900 square feet and seat 180 in the dining room and 60 in the lounge. The operation, managed by Great Lakes Steak Co., Macatawa, Mich., will feature steak and seafood. The interior will be decorated with old nautical items.

The weekly building permit total for Washtenaw County, $884,345, included $426,800 worth of commercial projects and $325,460 worth of residential projects. The rest of the total was accounted for by those projects valued at less than $10,000.

In Scio Township a building permit was issued for a $106,000 commercial building pt 6235 Jackson for Cooperative Roofing Co., 110 Crest, Ann Arbor by Ernest Krause, 6950 W. Liberty, Ann Arbor.

In Ypsilanti Township a $40,800 storage building will be constructed at 1474 Ecorse for Star Construction Co., 1474 Ecorse.

The city of Ann Arbor issued three building permits to the Whittier Construction Co. of Southfield for houses on Lakehurst; one for $33,500 at 2755, one for $31,500 at 2765 and one for $29,500 at 2745.

Building permits for other houses includes ones for:

—$48,000 at 3515 Charter Place by Robert Guenther, 1200 Bardstown, Ann Arbor.

—$37,500 at 9238 Thumm in Dexter Township for John Jurnic, 115 N. Adams, Ypsilanti, by David Morrison Builders, Okemos.

—$32,000 at 9940 Beeman in Lyndon Township by Curt Farley, 522 Howard, Chelsea.

-$30,000 at 11288 Scio Church Rd. in Lima Township for David Steward, 2442 Stone, Ann Arbor by Raymond McCleary, 7900 Chelsea Manchester Rd., Manchester.

—$30,000 at 10600 Trinkle in Lima Township for Gary Basso, 731 Glazier, Chelsea by Glamour Homes, 6386 Jack-son Rd., Ann Arbor.

—$26,730 at 1835 Midvale in Ypsilanti Township for Orrin Lamphear, 5845 Sto-ney Creek, Ypsilanti by Ogden Development Co., 2164 Washtenaw, Ypsilanti.
