Kids, You Can Meet Bixby Marionettes
The Meredith Bixby Marionettes will present an original production Saturday in Tappan School Auditorium, 2251 E. Stadium. Friendship International Cooperative Nursery School is sponsoring the event.
The presentation is based on Russian folk legends. Some familiar characters which appear are Baba Yaga, the witch who lives in a house that walks on chicken legs; Prince Johnny and his friend The Bear, and the Wizard Koschei. One of the five scene changes is an underwater scene.
Children who attend will get to meet some of the marionettes "in person," and there will be a demonstration of how marionettes actually work.
There will be two performances, at 11:00 a.m., and at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $1 available at the door, or at Goodyear's, Crown House at Plymouth Mall, Kiddie Korner, The Woman in the Shoe, Shipman's and Happy House.
