Wolverine Council, Boy Scouts of America, has received a gift of property on the Huron River from the family of Eugene Holmes Hannah. Hannah was a prominent real estate developer and builder in the Ann Arbor area for many years.
The property, located on the north side of the river off Daleview Drive between the railroad bridges, consists of some 13 acres. The gift was made by Hannah's widow, Mrs. Eunice Hannah Putsch, and her family.
In acceptance of the gift, Judge S. J. Elden, past Council President, and James A. Holland, Scout Executive, said the property will be used for a canoe camp and overnight camps by local Boy Scouts.
Mrs. Putsch and members of her family participated in a dedication ceremony recently at the property. A plaque, mounted on a large boulder, reads: "This property has been donated for the advancement of the ideals and purposes of Wolverine Council, Boy Scouts of American, in memory of Eugene Holmes Hannah."
