Dolph Lake Park

The Master Plan for Dolph Lake Park, together with an environmental analysis, has been presented to the City Planning Commission and approved.

The plan now goes to City Council on December 6. following a public hearing tomorrow night in Council Chambers on the drainage plan for the area.

Drawings of the final Master Plan, developed by Colvin-Robinson Associates with input by the Sister Lakes Conservation Association, the Ann Arbor Public Schools, and the University of Michigan, and the Ann Arbor Parks Department, are shown at right.

Input from the schools concerned coordination of plans for the portion of Lakewood Woods owned by the system, and input from the UM concerned plans for Saginaw Forest nearby. The plans call for a linkage to the latter property.

Approval of the plans by council will enable the Parks Department to begin initial development of the new park with funds available from the 1971 Parks Bond, reserved for the park. Completion of the master plan will require additional funding.

Copies of the maps showing initial development and the final conception, along with the environmental analysis, are available in the Parks And Recreation Department office in City Hall.
