Whitmore Club Hits Jackpot

WHITMORE LAKE - Twenty co-workers who call themselves the Lucky Buck Lottery Club won the top $113,000 prize Thursday night in the Michigan Lottery’s weekly “Michigame” "drawing.

Cheryl Naegele. who represented the club in the televised drawing, said she and her husband Frederick plan to use their winnings for a European honeymoon they postponed last May because they weren't sure they could afford it.

And when they take the honeymoon next August, Mrs. Naegel's parents will go along, thanks to the lottery winnings.

The Lucky Buck club members are all employees of Hoover Chemical Products here and will get equal shares of the winnings. Mrs. Naegele said three of the 20 club members are on the administrative staff at Hoover and the rest work on the afternoon shift.

The club was formed last April. Every member puts in a dollar a week and has a turn at purchasing the 40 tickets. Mrs. Naegele said the club has had about $400 in small winnings before last night’s big win, but these were turned back into buying more tickets.
