Lage, Harold R. (Hal)

2938 Parkridge-

Age 80, passed away Saturday evening. June 24, 1978, in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital following a brief illness. Born August 22, 1897 in Blackwell Oklahoma, he was the son of Stephen George and Nellie Watts Lage. He spent his boyhood in Holland, Michigan and moved to Ann Arbor in 1936. On Feb. 22, 1938 he married Edna Bareis in Ann Arbor; she survives. During World War I he served in the Calvary Division located in California. Mr. Lage was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ and the Ann Arbor Lions Club. He retired in 1965 from the Ann Arbor Branch of the Detroit Auto Club (AAA) as Claims Manager, a position he had held for many years. Survivors besides his wife include: one brother. Donald Lage of Ann Arbor; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Lyman and George Lage, and a sister Mrs. Joseph (Jean) Mummery. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Muehlig Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Orval L. E. Willimann officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Church or the American Cancer Society. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening between 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday between 7-9 p.m.
