MARTIN, E. ALLYNE

2232 PACKARD, ANN ARBOR—

Age 64, died Thursday, August 31, 1978 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital following a short illness. She was born January 7, 1914 in Webster County, Kentucky, the daughter of George Thomas and Lucy Mitchell Shelton. She had been an Ann Arbor resident most of her life. She was married to Nathan G. Martin in September of 1934 in Kentucky. She worked for the University of Michigan and retired in 1975. Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. Peggy Hogue of Saline, Michigan, Mrs. Linda Stump of Allen Park, Mrs. Elizabeth Ambo of Chicago; one son, Frank Martin of Ann Arbor. Other survivors include a stepson, Virgil Kenneth Martin of Livonia, Michigan and a step-daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Edna Earl) Middleton of Southfield, Michigan; three sisters, Mrs. Clifford (Gomez) Hedlund of Ann Arbor, Mrs. Darold (Juel) Kanipe of Sturgis, Kentucky and Mrs. Minky (Bobbie Jean) Below of Morganfield, Kentucky; three brothers, William Everett Shelton of Ravenna, Kentucky, John Shelton of Clay, Kentucky, and Joel Shelton of Ann Arbor; several grandchildren and a very special friend, Carl R. Smith. She was preceded in death by one son, Larry Martin in 1969, her parents and two brothers, Robert and Thomas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Frank Cozadd officiating. Burial will follow in Marble Park Cemetery, Milan, Michigan. Visitation will be on Friday afternoon until the time of service.
