Age 64, died Thursday, December 21, 1978 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a three week illness. He was born May 9, 1914 in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Arthur and Eline Malmo Hedlund. He had been a resident of Ann Arbor since 1946. He was married to Gomez Shelton on January 20, 1951. Mr. Hedlund was a veteran of WWII U.S. Army. He was a member of Erwin Prieskorn Post No. 46 of the American Legion; the Graf O'Hara Post No. 423; Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had been employed as a Baker at Quality Bakery for 33 years. Survivors include: his wife; one daughter, Betty Lou Hedlund of Ann Arbor; three brothers, George Hedlund of Williamston, Michigan, Ed Hedlund and Lloyd Hedlund both of South Haven, Michigan; one sister, Ethel Hedlund of Coloma, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Orval L.E. Willimann officiating. Burial will be made in Marble Park Cemetery, Milan. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel.
