St. Joseph council elects officers

Howard S. Holmes, president of Chelsea Milling Company, has been re-elected chairman of the Catherine' McAuley Health Center’s Development Council. Harry A. Towsley, MD, U-M professor emeritus of pediatrics and postgraduate medicine, will again serve as the Council’s Vice Chairman.

New members elected to three-year terms on the Council include Mrs. Don Gargaro; Hoover NSK Bearing Inc. President Bruce Paxton; Lawrence Smith, EMU Vice President for Student Affairs; and the Council’s Special Events Committee member Mrs. Louis Trubshaw.

Re-elected to second three-year terms are Ann Arbor Trust Company Vice President William A. Broucek; the Council’s Special Events Committee Chairman Mrs. William J. Conlin; Ann Arbor attorney Edmond DeVine; and C. Wendell Dunbar of Icerman, Johnson and Hoffman.

Other re-elected members are National Bank and Trust Company Vice President Eugene Fowler, retired Chairman of University Microfilms Eugene B. Power, R.E. Reichert, Jr., MD and Great Lakes Federal President Roy Weber.

Other Council members include Ypsilanti attorney William Anhut; Ann Arbor Bank and Trust Company President Bruce Benner; Ypsilanti attorney Eugene Calder, U-M Athletic Department Director Don Canham; Catherine J. Carrol!, MD; Huron Valley National Bank President Jay J. De-Lay; and Ann Arbor attorney John B. DeVine.

ALSO SERVING on the council are SJMH Chief of Staff M.S. DeWeese, MD; Ann Arbor Trust Company Vice President Thomas Dickinson; Reed O. Dingman, MD; President of Xerox/University Microfilms Joseph Fitzsimmons; Sisters of Mercy Health Corporation Vice President Sr. Mary Yvonne Gellise; Hoover Universal Account Executive Richard Hadler; and Richard Judge, MD.

Others included on the council are Mrs. Paul Kelley; Mrs. Ben Kessel; SJMH Medical Auxiliary President Mrs. Richard Kraft; Mrs. Harold B. Kukes; Michigan Trenching Service President R.B. Lyons; John McCabe, MD; Domino’s Pizza President Thomas Monaghan; Mrs. James Myers; certified life underwriter Don Robinson; Mrs. Lamb Stranahan; E. Thurston Thieme, MD; and Earhart Foundation President Richard Ware.

The Development Council was organized in 1976 to assist in long-range fund raising efforts to support St. Joseph Mercy Hospital programs and purchase medical/surgical equipment. With the recent formation of the Catherine McAuley Health Center, the Council will raise funds for SMJH and Mercywood Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, both of which are units of the Health Center.
