Loree, Douglas Dean
Formerly of Ann Arbor -
Douglas Dean Loree, a former architect of Ann Arbor, Mich., passed away August 26, 1979 at Guadalajara, Mexico. Cremation has taken place. Mr. Loree was a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Architecture in 1925 and received his Masters degree in Architecture in 1926. He was an active member of the Huron Valley Chapter of The American Institute of Architects until his death. Several local architects received their early training in his office and were influenced by his design concepts, the following are some of them; Tex Colvin, Dick Robinson, John Jickling, Jim Wong, Dave Osler, Bill Hobbs and Art Lindauer. Mr. Loree's work covered a broad spectrum of architecture. Mr. Loree designed several of the luxury homes at Barton Hills, the Inglis residence in Ann Arbor together with the University of Michigan Golf Club House, University of Michigan Printing Bldg., North Campus, Fire Station on Stadium Blvd., Alpha Phi, Collegiate Sorosis house and Delta Gamma Sorority houses.
