Huhn, Herman A.

Age 98, died Sunday, September 23, 1979 after an extended illness. He was born April 22, 1881 in Ann Arbor the son of Frederick and Augusta Hoeft Huhn. Mr. Huhn was a lifelong Ann Arbor resident. He was married to Ethelyn Maddox; she preceded him in death August 4, 1928. He had been a printer at the Ann Arbor News for 61 years and was the oldest member of the Wolverine Typographical Union 535, formerly the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti Typographical Union 154. Mr. Huhn was a life member of Elks Lodge No. 325, a life member of Golden Rule Masonic Lodge No. 159 F & AM and the Zal Gaz Grotto Club. Survivors include: one granddaughter, two nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by two sons, Lt. Robert H. Huhn on April 16, 1944 and E. Charles Huhn on June 23, 1965. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Terry Daly officiating. Burial will be made in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the hour of the service at 2 p.m.
