Simpkins named top M senior
SIMPKINS
Ron Simpkins, Michigan’s all-time leading tackler, has been named recipient of the annual Senior Athlete of the Year Award, an award sponsored by the Ann Arbor Quarterback Club.
His selection was based on a vote by all undergraduate Michigan lettermen following nominations by the coaches of the various intercollegiate sports.
Among the final three were high jumper Mike Lattany in addition to basketball player Mark Lozier. Simpkins’ election was announced last night at the annual meeting of the Quarterback Club.
