The Rev. Emmett Green of the 115-year-old Second Baptist Church stands under the arches of the building that the church began planning four years ago.
Started in December, the new struture, 850 Red Oak Road, is expected to be completed in November. The 700 members now meet at its church at N. Fifth and Beakes streets.
