Age 87, died Thursday, December 31, 1981 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after an extended illness. He was born December 19, 1894 in Ann Arbor a son of Adolph and Clara Weimer Schmidt. He had been a resident of Ann Arbor his entire life. He was married to Mary Nagel on June 1, 1918, she died December 17, 1970. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a life member of Golden Rule Lodge No. 159, F&AM. He had been a Mail Carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 35 years, he later retired from the City of Ann Arbor Parking System. He is survived by one son, Robert of Ann Arbor; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Wright in May, 1981. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Muehlig Chapel with the Rev. Walter Arnold officiating. Burial will be made in Washtenong Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to a favorite charity. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
