Age 61, died Tuesday, September 20,
1983 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital,
after a brief illness. He was born July
23.1922 in Saline, the son of Charles R.

d Edna A. Steeb Cammet. Mr. Cam-
met had been a resident of Washtenaw
County most of his life. He was mar-
ried to Meredith Woodrow Knight June
•2$, 1962. Mr. Cammet joined the Ann
Arbor Fire Dept. December 23,1950, he
was named acting lieutenant Septem-
ber 22,1968, and he was named lieuten-
ant July 1,1969. He served the Ann Ar-
bor Fire Dept. for over ^ wars,
retiring January 9, 1976. ^ met
was a member of the International As-
sociation of Fire Fighters. Prior to
joining the Fire Dept., he had been a
farmer. Mr. Cammet was a member of
Bethlehem United Church of Christ.
Survivors include: his wife; two sons,
Steve Knight of Ann Arbor, Michael
Knight of Orlando. Florida; two daugh-
ters, Deborah German of Ann Arb'"-
and Brenda Hawkins of Sparta, W
consin; eight grandchildren; four
brothers, Elmer of Saline, Keith of Sa-
line, Robert B. of Ypsilanti and Ed-
ward of Saline; several nieces and
nephews. Funeral services will be held
at 1 p.m. Friday at the Muehlig Chapel
with the Rev. At Goddard officiating.
Burial will be made in Oakwood Ceme-
tery in Grass lake. Memorial contribu-
tions may be made to the Washtenaw
County Chapter of the American Can-
cer Society. Friends may call at the
Muehlig Chapel 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
today.
