Age 84, died Monday morning, April 30, 1984 at the Evangelical Home of Saline. He was born November 20, 1899 in Overton, Ohio a son of Silas J. and Harriet May Hoag. He had been a resident of Ann Arbor since 1919. He was married to Jean D. McLetchie on January 1, 1919 in Jackson. Mr. Hoag was a City Manager for W.S. Butterfield Theaters and had been a manager of the Michigan Theater from the opening on January 5, 1928 until his retirement on January 5, 1974. He was a member of the Ann Arbor Rotary Club and a member of the B. P. O. E. No. 325 and a life member of the Golden Rule F&AM No. 159. Surviving is his wife Jean; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Hoag Robinson of Huntington, New York; five grandsons, Geoffrey W. of Santa Clara, Calif., Jerry W. of Denver, Colo., Christopher A. of Moss Beach, Calif., John K. of Hartford, Conn. and James R. of Denver; five great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday at 4:00 p.m. at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Donald B. Strobe officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical Home of Saline.
