Age 79, died suddenly Wednesday, July 11, 1984 at St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. Teal was Professor Emeritus of Saxophone, University of Michigan School of Music and was a past member of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Survivors include: his wife, Mary; one daughter, Lynn Anderson of Milford; one son, Laurence L. Teal Jr. of Milford; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one sister, Ione Stewart of Dublin, Ohio. Private services have been held. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. September 27 at the Recital Hall of the University of Michigan School of Music. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Larry Teal Scholarship Fund, University of Michigan School of Music.
